Buddies, and Viv's phone obsession

Here are a couple of shots of Vivian and best buddy Acacia on our last (or near to last) night in Jackson. Can't wait for her visit in Novmeber!



And Vivian on the cell phone (not really...but she does love calling everything small with buttons a phone...). This photo was from a few weeks ago, honest...just a few days after the movers were here...Just wanted to get in another photo of the under-represented second child.

My little bird, Portland activities

Sabine took the bag that she filled with art goodies at S.C.R.A.P. and turned it into a mask. She ate a bowl of Lucky Charms (for dinner? Not my child...ha ha ha!) wearing it. Then proceeded to put it on Bret, then Dave. Pretty funny.


This is the map Sabine made of Portland. It shows Daddy's office, the nearby fountain, the playground, the Oregon Zoo and OMSI.

We've been to the Zoo twice already, got to see the new baby elephant with NO WAITING (gotta love going during "school" hours) the other day...here he is:


We've also been to OMSI twice, it's less than a mile from our house, and just a 5 minute bike ride from Bret's office, so he's met us there for lunch.

Otherwise, we're settling in, enjoying bouts of sun and clouds, meeting people and generally enjoying ourselves.

People have asked...

Why we would move away from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Not that we don't miss our friends, and many things about Jackson, but to give one reason for the move...this is EASTER last year (can you call it spring if there's still that much snow on the ground?)...Granted, we all had a great time at the Harger-Hoyt family annual easter egg hunt, but really now...do down jackets belong with the big bunny?

 

Reading, dressup, sister snuggles

Sabine had us write down words for her to read, once she read them we had to draw a picture of them...sometimes harder than you might think! The girls are still loving dressing up. We had a nice morning together, our first cloudy day (after about 3 weeks of sunshine!) so it was a good day for snuggling under a blanket on the couch.

Our first few days

Blogger is being strange, so I can't type blow each photo...but first is the WELCOME sign our friends Dave and Karmin had waiting for us in our new house (it's hard to read here, but it lists all the great things about Oregon, including Powells, museums, shopping, gardening, etc...it's a keeper!), then the moving van...we lucked out and had good moving weather, and no one parking in front of our house that day...and two photos of the back living room...a few days apart. We're really here!
